Primrose Restoration Sponsored by Go SouthernNovember 4, 2014
A member of Destin’s original fishing fleet was badly in need of a refurbishment. The Shoults and Veach families, long time residents of the area and Southern owners, were more than happy to answer the call.
Southern couldn’t be more proud to have a hand in restoring this Destin artifact. It is our mission to be the most caring company along the Gulf Coast. That includes helping to preserve our history and heritage so that many generations can enjoy it, whether they live in a home on the Gulf Coast or just like to vacation in Destin with their families.Â
The Primrose is a wooden vessel that was constructed in 1925. Following the restoration, which is set to be complete by the middle of this December, the Primrose will find a new home at a historical park near the Destin History and Fishing Museum. The park will be designed and built by D.A.G. Construction and will be dedicated, along with the Primrose, on May 2, 2015 as a part of the areas Founder’s Day celebration.Â
