RE/MAX Housing Report Update
Posted on March 17, 2015
Are you thinking about buying real estate in Destin, South Walton or on Okaloosa Island? If so, you may be curious as to what is going on as whole in the national housing market. You are in luck as RE/MAX just released the March National Housing Report to give you a quick glimpse into how everything stands.
What we saw this past February is an increase in the total number of home sales, but only a slight increase in price. In fact, home sales rose 7.1 percent from January to February this year compared to 2.2 percent in February of 2014.
For those familiar with housing trends and buying cycles, you already know the stigma associated with real estate in the winter months. The increase in home sales here is a great sign that consumers have gained confidence in the market. Not only do they recognize improvements in job growth, but recognize that mortgage rates have remained at historic lows.
