Southern’s Louisiana Flood Relief Fundraiser
Posted on August 31, 2016
In an effort to help contribute to the relief efforts for the Louisiana flood victims, Southern will donate $5 to the American Red Cross for each vacation reservation made from September 1st through the 15th, 2016. Southern Rentals and Real Estate is dedicated to helping the victims of this tragedy.
Over 10 days in early August of 2016, nearly 7.1 trillion gallons of water fell on the coast of Louisiana. As the rain fell, Baton Rouge, Lafayette, and surrounding areas were flooded with more water than the area has ever experienced before, including when Hurricane Katrina devastated Louisiana in 2005. Because this amount of rain falling at once is such an unlikely event, there was little to no warning. By the time the storm hit, it was too late. The towns flooded and people had no option but to evacuate. Countless businesses and an estimated 146,000 homes were damaged during the flood. It has been predicted that some Parishes will never recover.
Please help the people and communities of Louisiana rebuild in any way that you can. You can donate via the Southern Rentals and Real Estate Crowdrise page, contribute directly to the American Red Cross, or opt to donate when you call Southern to make a vacation reservation. For each vacation reservation made from September 1st through the 15th, 2016, Southern will donate $5 to the American Red Cross. Please help us reach our goal as we extend our support and resources to the victims of this tragedy.
