Vacation Rental Rates on the Rise
Posted on September 11, 2013
If you have been considering purchasing real estate on the Gulf Coast to use as an income property, especially as a vacation rental, now is the time.
Recent research revealed that vacation rentals rates rose over 19 percent this summer. According to reports courtesy of HomeAway Vacation Rentals, occupancy rates outpaced hotels 77% to 70% and about 87% of owners said their bookings were as good or better than the summer of 2012. Not only did the majority of owners not have to decrease their rates to increase bookings, but 23% actually increased their rates from 2012. This suggests that, thanks to a recovering economy, Americans are traveling for and spending more on their vacations.
